POSITIONOVERVIEW:
The MSCI Application Development team based in Beijingis seeking qualified candidates for an opportunity to work in a dualrole as a Web Services Developer / Environment Engineer. This position willpresent a unique opportunity to leverage complementary skills and grow yourcareer with a leading financial services firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ÿ
Software development ofWeb Service enhancements for two existing, independent platforms
Ÿ
Software development forintegrating Web Service offerings across two existing, independent platforms
Ÿ
Manage system/softwareconfigurations and troubleshoot development environment issues
Ÿ
Manage hardware andsoftware resources including coordinating maintenance and outages fordevelopment environment
Ÿ
Monitor/create performancetest suites that run within development environment, and work closely withdeveloper teams to identify issues and key areas for improvement andoptimization
Ÿ
Develop automation tools,scripts for maintenance and monitoring purposes
Ÿ
Provide production supportto the Operations and Application Support teams
Ÿ
Build creation and deployment
DESIREDEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ÿ
Bachelor's degree ComputerScience, Engineering or other similar concentration
Ÿ
Master’s degree a plus
Ÿ
2+ years experience in WebService development/system administration or other similar technical experience
Ÿ
Experience with REST, JSON, XSLT, JAXB, SOAP, WSDL, XSD
Ÿ
Experience with different web servicesframeworks: Axis2, JAX-WS, Metro
Ÿ
Experience with Apache Synapse,WS-Security
Ÿ
Experience with Web Services testingvia JUnit, SOAPUI, .NET
Ÿ
Experience with JavaScript, JSP,Servlets
Ÿ
Strong scripting skills
Ÿ
Database experience –Oracle/MSSQL skills
Ÿ
Softwaremanagement/development (Java, XML preferred)
Ÿ
Good working knowledge ofUnix and Windows Administration
Ÿ
Excellentproblem-solving/troubleshooting skills, fast learner
Ÿ
Ability to self-manageyour own projects
Ÿ
Excellent written and oralcommunication skills
Ÿ
Experience or interest in Finance a plus
